CASS Radiosurgery [Midco]

The CASS Radiosurgery software module is a comprehensive, automatedtreatment planning system for Radiosurgery, and is part of the family ofsoftware options available for CASS (Computer Assisted StereotacticSurgery).Designed for use with standard linear accelerators (LINAC) andradiosurgery hardware attachments (collimators and head fixation devicesare also available from MIDCO), quality assurance routines such as ATTC(Automated Test Target Calibration) simplify the setup and insure theaccuracy of your radiosurgery system. Initial dosimetry planning is madeeasier by the use of stored gantry and couch angle sets, and optimizationis achieved in an interactive visual environment that can incorporateactual scanner images along with the extensive 3-D graphics.Other unique visualization tools include "Beam's Eye View," a 3-D viewfrom the perspective of the collimator beam; multiple windowing ofscanner, reformatted, and zoomed images; "Tetraview," a 3-D view of atreatment plan from four distinct viewing angles; "Arc Path," a view ofthe plan from images generated every twenty degrees along the arc path;and "Arc Checks," a view of one or more arcs' contribution to the plan.Additionally, CASS provides MR and CT visualization with reforming in 2-Dand 3-D. LP Dose volume histograms (2-D and 3-D) are available forviewing the dose to the tumor, the enclosing volume, any user-definedvolumes, and any anatomical structures selected from the Whole BrainMapping Database. Tabular reports of dose delivery to all structures arealso available onscreen or as hard copy printouts.Designed for simplicity, CASS features an easy-to-use interface presentedin a fully interactive display. Point-and-click operation allows foronscreen manipulation and measurement of multidimensional image data.CASS can simulate an entire operative procedure and each procedure,including the associated images, can be accurately logged and archived byCASS' special medical/legal tape archiving system.
